ROOF INSTALLATION

A New Roof Is More Than Just Shingles

That’s why we don’t take shortcuts.

At Coleman Brothers Exteriors, we believe a properly installed roof should not only look great, but should also protect your home from water, wind, and the elements for years to come.

When we install a new roof, we pay attention to the entire roofing system—from the roof deck underneath to the shingles on top and everything in between. Our goal is to ensure your roof meets our standards and your expectations.

The owner personally manages your project from start to finish, helping ensure the work is properly completed and your home is well protected.

OUR ROOF INSTALLATION PROCESS

A Careful Approach From Start to Finish

1.

We Inspect Your Existing Roof

Before any work begins, we inspect your existing roof and discuss the condition of your roofing system with you.

We look for areas that may need attention, including damaged roofing materials, flashing, ventilation, and the condition of the roof decking.

We’ll explain what we find and what we recommend.

2.

Careful Removal of the Existing Roofing

When a complete roof replacement is needed, the existing roofing materials are carefully removed.

Removing the old roofing allows us to inspect the roof deck rather than simply covering potential problems.

Our goal is to start with a sound foundation for your new roof.

3.

We Inspect the Roof Deck

The roof deck is the foundation underneath your roofing materials.

Before the new roofing system is installed, we inspect the decking for areas that are damaged, deteriorated, or otherwise unsuitable for the new roof.

If damaged sections are found, we explain what needs attention and replace them as necessary.

No pressure. No unnecessary work. Just an honest assessment.

PROTECTING YOUR HOME FROM THE ELEMENTS

The Materials Under Your Shingles Matter

A roof isn’t just shingles. Several components beneath and around the shingles work together to help protect your home from water intrusion.

Ice & Water Protection

A self-adhering waterproof membrane adds protection in vulnerable areas where water may get beneath the shingles, such as roof edges and valleys, when required or appropriate for the roof design.

Synthetic Underlayment

Installed over the roof deck beneath the shingles, synthetic underlayment provides an additional protective layer against moisture and helps protect the roof deck during installation and throughout the roofing system’s service life.

Drip Edge

Drip edge flashing helps guide water away from the roof deck and toward the gutter system. Though small, this component plays an important role in protecting roof edges from water-related damage.

Flashing

Flashing helps seal vulnerable areas where the roof meets walls or penetrations. We pay close attention to chimneys, sidewalls, valleys, plumbing vents, and skylights where applicable to help prevent water intrusion.

PROPER ROOF VENTILATION

Appropriate ventilation helps manage heat and moisture in the attic. Depending on your home’s design, components such as ridge vents and soffit vents can support airflow and contribute to a well-designed roofing system.

INSTALLING YOUR NEW SHINGLES

Precision in Every Detail

Once the roof has been properly prepared and the protective components are installed, the new roofing materials are installed according to the manufacturer’s specifications.

This includes properly installing:

Starter Shingels

Field shingles

Valley materials

Flashing

Ridge shingles or caps

Roof penetrations and related details

We pay close attention to alignment, fastening, overlaps, and the manufacturer’s installation requirements.

We don’t rush the process. We do it right.
